Summary:

Lays out, fits, assembles, and welds fabricated components of various sizes made from sheet metal, angle bar, flat bar, etc. in galvanized steel, mild steel, and stainless steel.

Qualifications:

  • Experienced in MIG. TIG welding is a plus. (1-2 years’ experience or schooling preferred.)
  • Experienced with all types of Fabrication Machinery (Brakes, Shears, Spot Welders, Swaging and Beading Machines, Rollers, Iron Workers, Drill Presses, and various hand tools)
  • Have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and read a tape measure to 1/16” accuracy.
  • Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together.
  • Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Sets up equipment and welds parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
  • Assembles some parts by bolting and riveting.
  • Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Scope of Responsibility

· This job follows standard practices and procedures and is expected to accomplish work assignments under readily available supervision. Must be able to work both independently and within a team environment. Must keep a clean work area and practice all safety protocols established by management and the company.

Qualifications:

  • Language Ability:

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

  • Math Ability:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to add and subtract fractions down to 1/16” of an inch.

  • Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour DOE
